Bruce Wasser was a conscientious objector during the Vietnam War. A graduate with highest honors from Princeton, Mr. Wasser served as a public school teacher for over three decades in Newark, California. During his career, Mr. Wasser earned local and state-wide honors for developing a curriculum that stimulated empathy for those who were victims of persecution. Now retired, he lives with his wife, author Fern Schumer Chapman, in northern Illinois.
